Principal's Message

Welcome Message from Juan Herrera, Principal

Dear Bell Gardens High School Community:

As the new principal of Bell Gardens High School, I would like to welcome you to the 2012-2013 school year. I would like to thank Mr. Victor Chavez for his dedication and for the wonderful work he did for the students of the BGHS community.  I would also like congratulate Mr. Victor Chavez on his retirement and wish him the best as he relaxes and spends quality time with his family.

I am excited and honored to be the new principal of BGHS. I am a former administrator of BGHS having served as Federal & State Project Director and Assistant Principal from September 1999 through June 2006. Since then, I have served as Assistant Principal at Montebello High School, Principal of Laguna Nueva School and most recently as Principal of Eastmont Intermediate. As a result of my extensive administrative experience, I bring to the BGHS community a knowledge base of how students are prepared for the high school and a clear vision of what is expected of our students to be successful in the educational careers that lie ahead of them in high school and ultimately college.

I come to BGHS with one main goal: Make sure that all students graduate from high school. Working in partnership with families, we will ensure that all students are successful in completing a rigorous standards-based program. Through ongoing professional development, extensive data analysis and the use of best educational practices, we will provide all students the support necessary to meet their academic, social and cultural needs, so that they achieve at a high level and ultimately graduate from high school.

I welcome and encourage all families to become an integral part of our team and work towards making improvements to our school that will benefit each student. Let’s begin and end each student’s day with love, support and encouragement. Through our efforts and ongoing communication, we can assure that our students receive the best educational experience that they deserve.

Si Se Puede!

Sincerely,

Juan M. Herrera

Principal
