What Tests Should I Take?
 
CAHSEE - You will take this exam in the Spring of your sophomore year. If you do not pass the first time, you will have other opportunities to take it  You must pass this test with a 350 or above in order to graduate from high school.
 
 
Test Dates:  Tuesday, March 12, 2013 AND Wednesday, March 13, 2013
  
PSAT - You will take this exam in the Spring of your sophomore and junior years. The PSAT is a first-hand look at the SAT and gives you a chance to analyze and improve your performance on the SAT.  You should plan to take this exam in the Fall of your sophomore and junior years.  For more information about the PSAT, click HERE and see your counselor to register for this test.

Test Dates:  Wednesday, October 17, 2012 AND Saturday, October 20,2012
 
SAT and ACT- You will take these exams in the Spring of your Junior year and again in the Fall of your Senior year.  Many colleges will take either the SAT ir the ACT.  Be sure to check with the college to which you intend to apply.  However, it is recommended that you take both the SAT and the ACT.

AP Test - When you enroll for an AP course, you will take the corresponding AP test in the Spring.  You could earn college credit if you pass an AP test with a score of 3 or better, but be sure to check the college policy regarding credit awarded for passing AP exams.
 
Test Dates:  Monday, May 6, 2013 - Friday, May 17, 2013             AP Test Calendar for 2013
 
UC Placement Test - If required, you will take this exam in the Spring of your Senior year IF you have been accepted to a UC school AND you plan to attend. Please visit the campus to which you will attend to inquire about this requirement.
 
CSU Placement Test - If required, you will take this exam in the Spring of your Senior year IF you have been accepted to a UC school AND you plan to attend.
